Elevating brain health leadership through strategic brand design.

Objectives

Leverage parent branding to craft a unique sub-brand that drives engagement around research collaboration, public policy, and funding. Position the Summit as a recognized leader in brain health. Deliver an elegant onsite experience that reflects the Summit’s prestige and purpose.

My Role

I was involved across the lifecycle of this project. From the initial discovery phase and original concepting through art direction, stakeholder presentations, and final production, my work guided the visual and experiential outcome.

Key highlights of this process:

Impact

The success of the Brain Health Summit sets a precedent for how design and technology can amplify mission-driven events. A diverse group of participants from various disciplines came together for the initiative. Significant funding was secured, which is expected to drive future efforts in brain health research and policy.

Solution pt.1 (Framework)

Concise presentation to key stakeholders including physicians and staff product owners. The main focus for this presentation was to ground expectations of this sub-brand with the parent identity system while providing a unique vision and inspiration for the future of the event.

Framework Steps

Action Plan

  1. Positioning: Utilization of the four pillars of brain health provided me with a narrative.
  2. Brand integration: Having a solid visual direction from the parent brand allowed for me to craft a solution that could be trusted.
  3. Rethinking the hero visual: Understanding that good brain graphics are often overused, I had to reshape what this visualization could mean.

Solution pt. 2 (Designs)

To meet these goals, I developed a prompt to generate a bespoke hero graphic that visually anchors the Summit’s identity, then adjusted the output for scalability.

  • My prompt included specific keywords like specific areas of the brain, specific brand colors, and a specific physical art/craft style.
  • I reworked the output so that it could be used in motion graphics (social posts and lower thirds), easy background replacement, and large-format printing needs.
  • I set this file up so that various layouts could be incorporated, furthering the direction of communication mode distinction.

Looking Ahead

Scaling the System

Now that this sub-brand will be going into its 6th year, we see more room for expansion of the design system.

Elevating the Physical Experience

Exploring breakout sessions and marketing activations by using the Analytical (cool) and the Expressive (warm) tones of the hero graphic.

Online Presence Expansion

Increasing the interactive components of the webpage to allow for more donor and participant engagement.

Evolution of the Framework

Creating a path forward beyond the hero graphic so that this sub-brand can evolve using the core brand as the catalyst.
